What is Lying?
Just what is lying and why is it so important? Must a lie be false? Must the liar be trying to deceive you? This video investigates the philosophy of what lying is, and how it differs from merely misleading someone or bullshitting.
In part 2, I’ll discuss the ethics of lying: is lying ever morally ok? If so, when? And what’s the moral difference between lying and merely misleading someone?
