Kathleen Murphy-Hollies is a Teaching Fellow and Researcher at the University of Birmingham, working at the intersection of epistemology and ethics on confabulation and epistemic virtues. As part of the British Academy-funded project on Conspiratorial Ideation and Pathological Belief and an exciting exhibition on conspiracy theories and misinformation at the Philosophy Museum in Milan, she observes how people tend to provide explanations of significant events that make them feel good about themselves.
